Challenge
Abatement Technologies Limited has a line of negative pressure room isolation equipment that is used to isolate hospital patients with infectious airborne pathogens. Before the involvement of Niagara College, the unit design had a noise level that affected the comfort of patients.
Solution
The research team modified the HC800F HEPA Air Scrubber to reduce noise by more than five decibels below the overall noise average, while maintaining the equipment’s performance standards.
