Community Crew

Uncovering Opportunities For a Non-Profit

CHALLENGE:

Community Crew is a not-for-profit dedicated to providing nutritious lunches throughout the school year to children who need it most. More than lunches, Community Crew is an example of the good that can be done when community comes together. Relying on fundraising as a model for revenue to support the initiatives, the Covid-19 pandemic has made the organization pivot from holding well-attended fundraising events to capturing donations through an online world. This has presented challenges, but also opportunities. They would like to understand how fundraising has changed and what the future looks like for this sector. Uncovering opportunities to adapt to the digital fundraising world will be uncovered and tools to help drive donations.

 SOLUTION:

The research team at Niagara College’s Business & Commercialization Solutions conducted a comprehensive analysis on how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted non-profits – both the positive and negative impacts – and how fundraising is changing. A review was completed on the target market and the best way to reach the various donors. The team also offered Community Crew a look at the future of fundraising and provided suggestions on how they might move towards new ways in fundraising.
