Line thickness monitoring technology
Challenge
Linetech Design & Mfg Ltd. manufactures and distributes all types of road striping, safety and maintenance related products. The company developed a mobile monitoring device to gauge the thickness of existing road markings, but the software and prototype quickly became outdated.
Solution
The research team assisted Linetech in researching and then creating a stationary device that uses a fixed camera and laser line to measure the thickness of line paint on roadways.
