Enhancing LandMapR

Challenge

LandMapR is a Landform Classification System application that was originally developed by Bob MacMillan to show the lowest elevations, as well as classify various elevation points. This tool is used for hydrological modelling and land-form classification. The code was provided with the caveat that it be an open-source application, but the program was in need of upgrading in several areas.

Solution

Improvements to the application include elimination of conversion steps when switching between different software applications such as ESRI. Focus is currently on gaining a better understanding of the current application and using this information to develop LandMapR 2, which will be more efficient and have the ability to process larger areas.
