Prototype Development
Challenge
Ryan IT is a machine fabricator located in Grimsby, Ont. that specializes in equipment for construction. The company approached Niagara College with the idea of developing an asphalt pothole patching machine to be sold to construction contractors and municipal public works.
Solution
The research team first virtually designed all components of a working prototype, including the hydraulic circuit and electronic control of the device. Then, both parties worked on constructing the prototype, while the advanced manufacturing team assisted Ryan IT in resolving any technical issues.
