Looking back on 2022, we have seen substantial growth within our Research & Innovation division. Many new, smiling faces have joined our already amazing team and with them, I know, we are poised for another year of success.
As always, we continue our mission of providing real-world solutions for business, key industry sectors and the community through applied research and our knowledge transfer activities.
Some highlights of the past year include:
- • Niagara College earning top-10 place among research colleges in Canada for the seventh year in a row
- • A $4.43-million investment in industry-college partnerships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
- • A $3.25M boost in funding for applied research from NSERC
- • The establishment of the Business & Commercialization Innovation Centre
- • And a new name and enhanced resources and capabilities for both the Horticultural & Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre and the Food and Beverage Innovation Centre
In addition to those achievements, I am so proud of the entire team for their ongoing impactful work with small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as their constant focus on providing high-quality, real-world experiences for our students, day in and day out.
