The diverse applied research offerings of Niagara College’s Research & Innovation division were on display for two days in downtown Toronto this week as part of the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Discovery Conference.

Taking place May 9 and 10 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Discovery is billed as one of Canada’s leading innovation-to-discovery conferences, bringing together industry, entrepreneurs, academia, government and the investment community.

The applied research teams showcased recent OCE-funded projects as well as ongoing research in each of the main areas of specialization. Highlights included a water tower garden; mini aquaponics unit; cold-brew coffee sampling, preserved sauces sampling; a presentation of website and technology adoption projects; and recent projects employing 3D scanning, printing and prototype work.
