Niagara College’s Research & Innovation teams visit OFVC

The research teams from three main areas of the college have a booth set up Wednesday and Thursday this week at the 2015 Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention, being held at the Scotiabank Centre in Niagara Falls.

Research faculty, students and recent graduates are all on hand to discuss recent project successes, and what they can do for other Niagara-area SMEs, in the areas of food and beverage innovation;advanced manufacturing innovation; and in precision agriculture and the environment.

Becky Griffin, a recent graduate of the Culinary Innovation and Food Technology program, was a research assistant with the Canadian Food and Wine Institute Innovation Centre’s project to develop an alcohol-free craft-brewed lager for MADD Virgin Drinks. Today she is a research associate with the CFWI Innovation Centre, working on several new projects.
