Research & Innovation publishes Solutions for Industry

The College’s Research & Innovation division has published its annual report in time for the new school year.

Solutions for Industry: 2014-15, available in both print and online, provides a snapshot of the year in finances; project and service metrics; as well as profiles and project highlights from the division’s main research areas, including the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre, the Agriculture and Environment Innovation Centre, the Canadian Food and Wine Institute Innovation Centre, the Business and Commercialization Solutions, and the Digital Media and Web Solutions.

The report includes snapshots of projects from all areas, and profiles of College students, recent graduates and faculty members involved in applied research activities throughout the past fiscal year.

Compared with the 2013-14 year, the number of companies interacting with the division increased by 66 per cent, while the number of research projects increased by 118 per cent, and the number of fee-for-service projects (called technical services) jumped by 63 per cent.

The division is now preparing for more growth in the year ahead, thanks in part to the anticipated opening next spring of the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre at the Welland Campus.
