Showcasing our work at home on campus and abroad at Queen’s Park

In March, the R&I team participated in two important events in the same week. NC’s Spring Open House was a huge success hosted on Saturday, March 25, and a few days earlier, the Food & Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC) team attended Queen’s Park College Day on Tuesday, March 21.

The Spring Open House saw many prospective students come through the doors at the Welland and Daniel J. Patterson Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses. R&I had interactive displays set up with our Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre and FBIC teams.

The FBIC team had lemon poppy seed muffins to sample, a sensory test, and lots of reading materials for visitors.

A few days earlier, the FBIC team attended the Queen’s Park College Day. This was a great event at which to showcase to Ontario’s politicians the great applied research work our food & beverage team is doing.

They brought homemade lemon poppy seed muffins and displayed various products that they have helped formulate in partnership with small- and medium-sized businesses.
