This year’s SIAL Canada’s pitch competition, held virtually Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, included solid representation from Niagara College, especially our Research & Innovation division, and in particular, the Canadian Food & Wine Institute (CFWI) Innovation Centre.
On the judging panel from CFWI Innovation Centre: Ana Cristina Vega Lugo, PhD, senior food scientist and Angela Tellez-Lance, PhD, senior food safety expert and risk analyst. And during the online announcement of the prize winners, Marc Nantel, PhD, vice-president, Research & External Relations, congratulated the top three winners and announced that the CFWI Innovation Centre is providing 20 hours of consultation for each prize.
