Many businesses operating in the historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake show off the past in their buildings, their branding, or their goods. But for the town’s Chamber of Commerce, representing and supporting business interests, and the positive growth of the community, means looking not only to the past, but being directly in the present while also planning for the future.
So, when it came time to refresh their branding and online presence, they turned to Niagara College’s Business and Commercialization Innovation Centre (BCIC) for creative and professional solutions.
Through an applied research project, the BCIC team, composed of research leads, students and recent graduates, developed a new brand kit, including a new colour palette, responsive logo set, and typography. A new website was also built, providing features such as a search function of members, ecommerce capabilities, and new imagery assets.
“The BCIC team brought our vision to life in a way that strengthens how we connect with our members and the broader community,” said Terry Dow, the Chamber’s program manager. “Their work modernized our brand, streamlined our online presence, and gave us the tools we need to better support local businesses. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.”
These brand assets and a friendlier online user experience will help reflect the NOTL Chamber’s mandate as a powerful advocate for business interests, as it facilitates connections between members and government, media, and the public, and as they host dynamic events, trade shows, and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
