NRC IRAP provides advice, connections, and funding to help Canadian small and medium-sized businesses increase their innovation capacity and take ideas to market.

The Research Support Fund assists Canadian post-secondary institutions and their affiliated research hospitals and institutes with the expenses associated with managing the research funded by the three federal research granting agencies. The Research Support Fund (formerly known as the Indirect Costs Program) ultimately helps researchers concentrate on cutting-edge discoveries and scholarship excellence, as funds are utilized to support an institution’s research environment, and to generate improvements, innovations and efficiencies in its management.

Tech-Access Canada is a national, not-for-profit organization passionate about expanding the reach of its 64 NSERC-funded Technology Access Centres to make their research and development support services accessible to all entrepreneurs and innovators across Canada and contributing to the development of a more inclusive innovation economy.

IPON is a provincial agency that provides trusted IP support and services to enable Ontario businesses and researchers to innovate and grow.

The goal of the Ministry of Colleges and Universities is to develop policy directions for universities and colleges of applied arts and technology. They plan and administer policies related to basic and applied research, authorize university grant degrees, distribute provincial funds to colleges and universities. Finally, they provide financial assistance to postsecondary school students and register career colleges.

Our mandate at Niagara Economic Development is to promote Niagara on a global scale and to work in partnership with the region’s 12 municipalities to provide effective, innovative services that encourage investment in and travel to the region, along with business support services to attract, maintain and increase jobs in Niagara.
