Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC)
As the Scientific Manager with the Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC), Ana provides scientific leadership for applied research and technical service projects, leading multidisciplinary research and student teams to deliver innovative solutions in product development, process optimization, food safety, analytical testing, regulatory and label compliance, and commercialization support.
Ana also oversees quality assurance and food safety compliance for the FBIC HACCP-certified Beverage Pilot Plant, ensuring that pilot-scale manufacturing and commercialization projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
A trained food engineer and scientist, Ana holds a PhD in Food Science and brings more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, spanning research, product commercialization, and applied innovation. Her expertise includes new product development, process scale-up, manufacturing optimization and troubleshooting, food safety systems, packaging science, and quality assurance.
Throughout her career, Ana has partnered with companies of all sizes, from entrepreneurs and start-ups to established manufacturers, to transform innovative ideas into commercially viable food and beverage products. She is passionate about helping industry overcome technical challenges, accelerate innovation, and successfully bring new products to market through science-based solutions.
