Beverage Optimization Technologist
Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC)
As the Beverage Optimization Technologist with the Food and Beverage Innovation Centre, Liliana works closely with R&D and production teams to develop, optimize, produce and scale up safe, high-quality beverage products.
She supports process operations within the Beverage Pilot Plant and Process Optimization labs, while also contributing to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Management program. Her work helps ensure client products meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, product specifications and production timelines.
Liliana brings a multidisciplinary background in food science, engineering, sustainability and regulatory compliance. A graduate of Niagara College’s Culinary Innovation and Food Technology program, she previously spent two years as a Research Assistant with FBIC, contributing to product development, process optimization and pilot-scale trials. She has expertise in food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000, CanadaGAP and SQF, as well as regulatory compliance and documentation aligned with CFIA and FDA requirements.
Prior to joining FBIC, Liliana worked as a Food Safety and Regulatory Specialist, supporting food safety management systems at two food-packing facilities in Norfolk County, Ontario. Before beginning her career in Canada, she worked as a Chemical Engineer in the public and private sectors, with experience in quality assurance, process control and production operations across environmental management, water treatment and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
