A busy fall season full of events for FBIC

FBIC Upcoming Events - calendar

The Food & Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC) will be sending their experts to three key industry events in the fall.

On Sept. 21, the FBIC team will attend the Food and Beverage Annual Golf Tournament at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club and sample ready-to-drink beverages they helped develop. They are also gold sponsors of the event. Carved from the remains of an old sand and gravel quarry, Peninsula Lakes Golf Club in Pelham is considered by many to be “The Jewel of Niagara.” Designed by legendary Canadian architect, Rene Muylaert, Peninsula Lakes Golf Club has been recognized by Golf Digest as a four and a half star facility, and Ranked #1 in Golfer’s Choice 2021: Best Value Golf Courses in Canada out of 697 rated courses.

Up next is the Alberta Craft Brewing Convention (ACBC) taking place Oct. 17 and 18 in Calgary. The two-day convention and trade show offers informative speakers, networking opportunities, a chance to connect with approximately 500 crat beverage leaders and manufacturers, and to celebrate our award recipients at the Alberta Beer Awards.

At ACBC, Kelly Byer, Laboratory Technologist, will co-present with Peter Johnston-Berresford, Lecturer & Researcher from Olds College, on the latest updates related to the Canadian-wide Craft Brewery Quality Project.

Following that, they will return to Ontario to exhibit and present at the Ontario Craft Brewers Conference & Marketplace (OCBC), on Oct. and 24-25 in Niagara Falls. You can visit the FBIC team at booth 300.

OCBC is Canada’s ultimate networking and education event, attracting craft brewers and industry suppliers from across North America. Brewery principals, staff and suppliers will meet, connect, network, learn and conduct more business in two+ days than could be possible in several months.

Once again, the FBIC team will present on the Canadian Craft Brewery Quality Project. Byerwill be joined by Adrian Popowycz, Research Lead, along with Chris Gilles, Manager Applied Research, and Dirk Bendiak, Researcher Lecturer from Durham College, alongside two craft brewery partners.
