Vij’s at Home
Food Safety Plan
Celebrity Chef Vikram Vij runs a successful restaurant business in British Columbia. He also produces and sells a line of at-home curries produced at his Vancouver, B.C. facility. Vij wanted to expand the vegetable-based product line of Vij’s at Home to include meats, and wanted to increase the sales territory across Canada.
Vij’s at Home worked with the CFWI Innovation Centre team to implement processes which would allow the facility to obtain the necessary health-related regulatory approvals. The team developed a custom HACCP program, including training and implementation materials, allowing Vij’s at Home to access new markets and dramatically expand production and sales with federal certification. What’s more, Vij’s at Home hired the student who worked on the project to lead the implementation, training and ongoing supervision of food safety and quality.
