Speakers’ Series goes green for March 11 event

Join Niagara Research on Mon., March 11 for an interactive discussion on current applied research projects from the Horticulture and Environment group.

The next instalment in the Speakers’ Series will focus on students and grads in applied research who are developing solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses in the areas of renewable energies, the environment and horticulture. Net-zero solar design, sustainability training module development, a reusable germination board for hydroponic spinach and improving lighting quality in a greenhouse setting are some of the projects which will be explored during the event.

If you are a student or faculty member interested in applied research in these areas, this is a great introduction to the collaborative process, as we showcase the innovative solutions being developed for industry partners such as Jeffery’s Greenhouse, Durham Foods, Niagara Sustainability Initiative and Umbrella Energy of Niagara.

The event, which is open to staff, students and the public, takes place Mon., March 11 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in W213 (NOTL campus). You may register through the co-curricular record (for students) or by contacting [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you there!
